Sample-crazy producer Pretty Lights has had a career akin to many recent hip-hop acts who have seen their careers blow up thanks to blogs and free albums. Every project he has released thus far has been free, with most of his money presumably being made through donations and touring.
His latest effort is the free EP Making Up a Changing Mind, the first in a three-part series to be released this year. And it's more of what listeners have come to expect from Pretty Lights. The six tracks on here offer a blend of wild breakbeats, an endless supply of samples from across the genre spectrum, and synthesizers galore.
